OCCUPYING one of
     Mount Nelson’s HISTORIC wings

the suite unfolds as an Afro-modernist narrative shaped by symbolism, pigment, and contemporary form. In close collaboration with Thebe Magugu, the space extends his richly layered storytelling beyond fashion —Sculptural silhouettes, intricate patterning, and richly saturated tones create an interior defined by warmth, depth, and cultural dialogue. Grounded in context, yet unapologetically expressive.

Every ELEMENT of the
     interior is GROUNDED

in meticulous research and craft. Symbolic motifs and hand-detailed interventions respond to the heritage architecture, fostering a cross-cultural dialogue between English tradition and South African design. Harvest tones, peat-green terrazzo, custom carpets, and panoramic wallpapers introduce narrative and material intelligence, capturing the spirit of South Africa’s vibrant landscape.

The design CELEBRATES both
     HERITAGE and EXPRESSION.

Across two levels, spaces transition from intimate gathering to quiet retreat. Curated works by leading South African artists anchor the suite in a deep sense of place, while layered craft and sculptural form reinforce its ceremonial presence. The result is a sumptuous Afro-modernist sanctuary – soulful, immersive, and unmistakably rooted in contemporary African identity.
